Installing a sensor or timer for your lights will save you money, reduce power around the home and give you added convenience.

Try installing sensors on outside lights near your driveway, garage or carport so the light is on when you arrive home at night but does not cost you money while you are out.

Timers are another good choice for security lights. By using a timer, you can set lighting to operate at appropriate times but will not waste energy when lighting is not needed.

There are Compact Fluorescent (CFL) alternatives to standard 150W floodlights. These CFL alternatives (about 25W) can make significant savings in running outdoor lighting that is on regularly for long periods of time.
